Leadership
Our Leadership Staff serve Camp in many different ways, but are united by their shared responsibility to support the Program’s daily functions. They share responsibility for ensuring high-quality program delivery, supervising staff, and assisting in the general safety and well-being of participants.

We value flexibility and a collaborative spirit. While each role at Camp comes with primary responsibilities, there will be occasions when you’ll be called upon to assist in other areas as needed. We believe in a ‘can-do’ attitude and appreciate staff members who are open to taking on new challenges. This approach helps us all grow and succeed together. Demonstrable experience relevant to each Leadership role is preferred.

Manager of Camper Experience

This is a Leadership position that is primarily focused on the well-being of Campers. Read on for more details!

Responsibilities:

As the Manager of Camper Experience, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring memorable and enriching experiences for our campers.

You’ll be responsible for planning and coordinating daily All-Camp Activities that engage and entertain a large group of campers. While we do have multiple pre-planned All-Camp Activities, we strongly encourage creative programming. Collaborating closely with our Medical team, you’ll ensure that large-group activities are fully planned out, effectively communicated and safely executed.

You’ll manage the inventory of program supplies, ensuring timely communication with the Camp Director for ordering and restocking. This includes inventory monitoring of an Archery/Axe Throwing Range, a Slingshot Range, a High Ropes Course (in collaboration with a Specialist), Arts and Crafts, Camp-Outs and Outdoor Education.

This role includes monitoring of overall Camper wellbeing, as well as addressing behaviors when Counselors require support; employing effective strategies to address issues before they require intervention from the Camp Director. In instances where the Manager of Camper Experience may notice an issue with Staff Performance, they will collaborate with the Manager of Staff Experience and if required, the Camp Director to reach a resolution.

As part of providing a successful program, you will have some logistical responsibilities: ensuring that cook-out supplies are packed each day, fires are built for camp-fires and camp-outs and distribution of camera batteries and SD cards to Counselors.

Responsible for running Flag Raising/lowering and associated announcements. (Campers raise a flag of their choice, from a variety of options.)

During each week, Counselors write letters for each of our Campers to take home. As the week progresses, it is the responsibility of the Manager of Camper Experience to monitor the progress of these letters, and to ensure they are to standard and printed before check-out.

When we are offering an LIT session, the Camp Director will assign LIT’s to cabin groups. You will provide daily sessions to LITs to provide unique trainings and activities, as well as check in on LIT experience and progress. This requires timely planning of the LIT sessions in collaboration with the Camp Director.

Once daily programming has ended, Field Staff including Lifeguards and Challenge Course Specialists join the Program Team. Overseen by you, these Staff members are in place to support you in excelling at your responsibilities. This means that expectations and responsibilities will need to be communicated throughout the Program with these supportive Staff members.

Additional Responsibilities:

Facilitation of the Camp ‘Trading Post’ each day, Collaborating with Dining Hall Manager to deliver Meal-Time Programming, ensuring program areas are well-kept by participants and staff.
