TIERED PRICING STRUCTURE
Camp Ho Mita Koda understands that families have different abilities to pay for a camp experience and that you know your family’s financial situation better than we do. Tiered pricing allows you to choose the rate that best fits your financial situation. The tier you choose remains confidential and in no way influences or affects the experience your camper receives. Tiered pricing allows us to stretch scholarship funding further, bringing more young people the opportunity to have a life-changing week at Camp Ho Mita Koda.
Tier 1 – Subsidized Rate
This base rate is offered thanks to the generosity of community groups and the contributions of donors.
Tier 2 – Direct Cost Rate
This is a partially supported rate for those who can pay a little more than the Tier 1 rate and help support our campership program and help keep costs low and camp attainable for all!
Tier 3 – True Cost
This rate more closely eflects the true cost of a one week the camp experience to the organization.
We believe that every child should experience the powerful impact that summer camp provides regardless of income. For those families who cannot afford Tier 1, additional scholarship assistance through our Campership Program is available to ensure that all children have the opportunity to attend camp.

New Diagnosis Credit
Receiving the unexpected news that your child has Type 1 Diabetes is one of the scariest things that a family can go through. Sending your camper to overnight camp for an extended period away from home, for the first time after a recent diagnosis, can be equally as scary. However, a positive camp experience during the first year of diagnosis is essential and provides a framework for support for both the camper and family that will carry through for the rest of their lives. In just one year, a child with Type 1 Diabetes will check their blood sugar approximately 2,920 times, give 2,555 insulin injections, and lose 209 hours of sleep. There are many reasons a child with T1D experiences anxiety and burnout; from constant self-care, to making a million decisions on a daily basis, to feeling the loneliness of being part of the 0.2% of youth living with T1D.
Camp Ho Mita Koda is proud to sponsor first-time campers who have had a T1D diagnosis within 12 months of the start of the camp with a 50% credit toward the camp fee. Those diagnosed within 6 months of the start of camp get a FREE WEEK OF CAMP, less the $100 non-refundable deposit. To take advantage of the credit, camp does require verification of the official diagnosis date, generally found on the initial discharge paperwork. The credit will be provided in the form of a code to sign up with or used to offset a balance on the account. No refund will be provided if payment has already been made, however the credit will remain on the account to use toward a future CHMK program.
CHMK is providing the opportunity to attend camp, regardless of finances, as we believe in the power of camp and have seen the incredible benefits that a one-week experience has on the mental health of a newly diagnosed camper. Spread the word to your communities, friends, support groups, and more. We are here for you, no questions asked. To learn more about first-time diagnosis assistance and to take advantage of the credit, please contact our camp office at 440-739-4095.
